Additional Notes: The Great Smoky Mountain Skywheel opened in 2013 in Pigeon Forge; Tennessee, USA and is part of a new development named The Island – a retail, dining and entertainment center. The observation wheel is 200 feet tall. There are 42 cabins capable of holding up to 8 people at one time resulting in a seating capacity of 336 passengers at one time. The duration of the ride is 12 minutes, resulting in a total capacity of 1680 people per hour. VIP cabins are available as well. Seating only four passengers at a time, they includes plush leather seats and a special glass floor.
